We are Bené (meaning good)…because we are thankful for the community of bloggers, entrepreneurs, artisans and talented people that surrounds us in the Queen City. We are bené because we have been blessed with freedom. The freedom to be educated, creative and beautiful. #BeneBoss
Bené is a scarf brand committed to providing education to girls in Ghana. Michelle Blue and Sasha Matthews are the two Bené bosses behind the brand. Inspired by a study abroad trip to Ghana, the two compassionate entrepreneurs made their vision a reality in 2013. They partnered up with SISTAWorks to invest in the girls’ tuition, supplies, and uniforms, and eventually their future as self-sufficient and empowered women. Each scarf purchased directly benefit the girls in Ghana. As if we couldn’t find a reason to buy another super cute scarf.
Buy a scarf, educate a girl.

We were using the door to the firehouse for a pretty background as the firemen were returning. Naturally, we ran into an alley to take more photos. Then the kind men offered their truck as a pop of color to our modeling session. We couldn’t turn them down.
Don’t forget to share with us how you style your scarves by using #BeneBoss and #ThreadCincy!
