That’s right, friends – Alice bought her wedding dress this weekend! I don’t think you realize how difficult it was for me to limit the end of that sentence to just one exclamation point. It was a lovely afternoon filled with champagne, gorgeous dresses and lots of excited variations of the phrase, “Alice, you look SO BEAUTIFUL!” As matron of honor, I naturally felt it was my duty to document the day and I’m excited to share it with you!
We went to Hyde Park Bridal, an adorable boutique owned by Amanda Cacaro, and would definitely recommend it to any Cincinnati brides. We loved the personalized touches she and her team brought to the experience, like writing Alice’s name on the sign in front of the store.
Hyde Park Bridal requires appointments in order to reserve the space for brides and their guests, which made the shopping experience much more individualized and relaxed. I definitely wish I had done something similar when I went wedding dress shopping a few years ago! Even though I absolutely loved my dress, I was one of many brides in the store I went to and it felt a little crowded. Since our group essentially had the store to ourselves, we could walk around with Alice’s stylist, Megan, and take our time looking at all of the gorgeous dresses and accessories.
I would never describe myself as a girly girl, but I’m not ashamed to admit that being in the presence of all these amazing dresses made me a little giddy. The champagne may or may not have contributed a little bit to that giddiness.
How cute is this robe? They keep these on hand for brides to wear in between trying on dresses – just another one of the thoughtful touches Amanda and her team incorporates into the shopping experience.
Overall, it was a really special experience. Can you think of any better way to end a weekend than watching your best friend find her wedding dress? No, you can’t.
Of course, I can’t show you any pictures of the dress but just trust me when I say it’s a stunner. Now comes the hard part of waiting for it to come in! September can’t get here soon enough!
