Our Columbus Food Diary

Since we both have family in Columbus, we spend a good amount of time there. The food scene in Columbus has been growing over the past several years, and there are tons of delicious places popping up all over the city. Here are just a few we visited on our most recent trip!

Our first stop was Fox in the Snow Cafe for their unbeatable egg sandwich and some lattes. Fox in the Snow is in the Italian Village neighborhood and serves up some seriously delicious coffee and baked goods, with decor that is somehow rustic and modern at the same time. This is Alice’s favorite breakfast place in Columbus, so make sure to check it out next time you’re in town!

Of course, we couldn’t come to Columbus without stopping by the infamous Jeni’s. Who would have thought we’d be able to walk around Ohio in late December, eating ice cream, without freezing to death? Thanks, climate change.

We stumbled upon MMELO Boutique Confections‘ holiday pop-up shop in Easton, and had the best time trying out their many amazing flavors of marshmallows. We love how MMELO uses organic, whole food ingredients to create absolutely beautiful treats! Lots of thanks to the owners, Michelle and Paul, for being so patient and letting us try a ton of different flavors before going home with packages of Gin & Tonic and Black & White marshmallows.

Along with marshmallows, they also make these unbelievable tea cakes. The cakes are dipped in chocolate and then hand painted with the most beautiful colors of cocoa butter. You almost feel bad for eating these works of art.. almost.

The pop-up shop is closing soon and then they’ll be on the move to the Short North. Keep an eye out for them!
